There is an alarming news story about the effects of global warming in Europe, which is causing nature to freak out. Crops are coming in too fast, animals aren’t migrating, diseases are affecting plants, etc.
One blogger from Britain is actually happy that it’s warming up, stating that he doesn’t have to wear jumpers as often. I guess the effects on plant and animal life won’t matter to most people until they actually go hungry.

I think my point was just that I don’t buy into the threat of anthropogenic global warming. These things go in big cycles. The earth did go into and come out of an ice age without any help from industry or airlines. Some scientists say that we are still emerging from the most recent ice age, which means the planet has a long way to go in finishing this part of the cycle, before cooling down again.
Just because we can see some of the effects on plants and animals doesn’t mean that they won’t eventually adapt to changes, if these changes are part of a continuing trend. Fortunately we are of a technological age that can develop treatments and preventions of plant diseases, as well as strains of various plants that will more quickly adapt to climate changes without seeing an immediate adjustment in both the species and location of food staple crops.
I say this on the basis of your argument and not being aware of any major food crops that are in immediate danger. The only major crop I can think of that specifically benefits from the cold is wheat. I suppose this means we might need to eat more corn and rice.
I also don’t know of any inherent need for animals to migrate, other than to proect themselves from the cold. If they can live in Canada year-round, then why not?
