Video Of Rosie O’Donnell & Elisabeth Hasselbeck Meltdown On The View

Things got so heated today between Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck that they actually put up a split-screen! It’s obvious that Rosie is very unhappy on the show and she seems relieved that her contract will end in three weeks.

This argument was a result of Rosie’s comment earlier in the week about 650,000 Iraqis being murdered and asking the question “Who are the terrorists?” A day or two later, Rosie asked Elisabeth if she really believed that Rosie thought US troops were terrorists and Elisabeth wouldn’t answer the question.

While I would normally be completely on Rosie’s side in a debate, this is one instance where I think Elisabeth made some valid points (especially about going on facts instead of emotions). I am actually somewhat impressed with her ability to defend herself against such an overwhelming personality.

Riveting television, to say the least.

Rosie is a multi-faceted individual, who not only shares her views and life on The View, but also on her blog through her posts and responses to comments. Any regular visitor of her blog would know exactly what she meant by those statements.

She has said time and time again that she LOVES the troops, which is why she wants them home. She blames Bush and Cheney for the war, for sending innocent troops to die, for ordering torture, etc. She does not place any blame on the troops. Anyone who says otherwise is twisting her words.

The other day when she asked who the real terrorists were, she was implying that it was our government, not the troops.

The media is out to get this woman. Why? Because she is an outspoken, controversial, misunderstood lesbian who pushes the envelope on preconceived notions of family, sexuality, and political views. In my book, that’s reason to celebrate her.

I am tired of Elisabeth self- righteous attitude. Rosie has been an out spoken breath of fresh air. I refuse to watch the show once she departs next month. Elisabeth will loose her Rosie colored glasses God only knows who will show her the light then.

Rosie’s the best we’re all going when Rosie goes. Elisabeth lives in some fantasy land no women can relate to her. She was rude and should apologize to Rosie.

Looks to me like Elizabeth thinks surviving is winning a game show. I just hope her children never have to go to war for financial gain.
Who Iam I kidding, Bush’s girls will never enlist, and neither will her kids. People like that will just keep getting invitations to attend those fancy smachy galas, while the poor fight to bury thier loved ones.
Wow! what a great example of a pregnant Christian mommy, slow to anger and being faithful to your friend by bringing up past pain, Trump. This will certainly be a shoe-in for next invite to attend a White House event witht the Bush’s.

Arguments like this are rarely what they seem to be about. Clearly these two women have issues with each other. The war is a just a foil for their mutual disregard. They were both rude, unable to listen, and needed to gouge each other. Just the sort of thing TV lovers love.

Wow!! Rosie certainly found a platform to air all her hate and anger toward the people living in the USA. She has some real inner issues. She thrives on controversy, maybe she feels threatened by Ellen, who I respect.

You people make me sick saying Rosie is a breath of fresh air. No she is just a bag of air…that is it. I don’t agree with this war, but I support our troops all that I can. I will actually come back to the View once Rosie is gone.

Let Rosie get her own show, let her go on and talk about how much she is in LOVE with Tom Cruise. Wow…Rosie decieved alot of people back in those days.

Rosie is giving the Iraqi people a voice. Someone ought to and I applaud her bravery. Elizabeth speaks as though war is about winning and losing, that war is a contest, that war is about reputation. It’s about death and hate. If you fight for war you fight for death and hatred of other cultures. I thought as a world we had gotten past all this. Children are dying. I can’t understand how she can carry a baby and condone the killing of other babies at the same time.

Everyday a part of me dies knowing there are people out there being tortured and killed in the name of peace. This is george orwell for sure when people say war=peace. Its doublethink and doublespeak.

Rosie loves to play the victim. Anytime she has a difference of opinion with someone, she will accuss them of picking on her because she is a lesbian and overweight. That get’s really old. I don’t feel she should be on t.v. period. She is obviously not a very secure well adjusted person or she wouldn’t feel the need to push everyone’s buttons. This is the only way she can get attention.
Hat’s off to Elisabeth as being a Christian and Republican, she is the minority on the show. She has guts to sit in the company of the other women on the show and stand up for what she feels is right. You Go Girl!!

Well, I think that Rosie and Elisabeth both have the right, the American right, to have their own opinion and views. It would be nice if ALL views could be voiced and heard with RESPECT, but I guess that wouldn’t make very good TV.
Why does one side always have to be wrong or right and why does everyone feel justified in insulting one or the other???

The View has run its course and the worst offender is Barbara who allowed the shows to spiral down into Rosie’s slanderous and sick imaginings, time and again. When its all over, the only one who has anything to go home to is Elisabeth. Joy is a bitter hater, Rosie a deceitful lunatic, and Barbara, you’re pitiful, and no longer credible.

Rosie has bullied Elisabeth for months by drowning out dissent with sheer volume and hatred…. and Hasselbeck, a Boston College Jesuit-educated talent who is routinely ridiculed as brainless by high-school GED types like Rosie and Behar, finally fought back and pummeled the deceitful slanderous bully.

Educated by Jesuits AND married to a New York Giant. There’s a nice double.

Rosie-The Non Riveting guiles me. My sentiments have nothing to do with her sexuality. I resent ALL uneducated celebrities–regardless of polticial affiliation– who feel that just because they have a platform and a publicity machine behind them, they can say what they want, when they want.

Yeah sure, they can open their mouths whenever they spirit moves them, because there’s freedom of speech in this country, but there’s ALWAYS a price for saying it. Sorry, but this is reality.

Rosie is a brash blow hard. She comes across brazen, ill informed and certainly, unpolished. Let’s face it, none of the “ladies” on “The View” are talents. Joy Behar? The Rula Lenska of mid morning television?? Please.

See ya Rosie. Good luck on LIfetime co-starring in “tele-epics” with Markie Post.

The View is going to miss Rosie whether you like her or not. The show became interesting to watch. I am so tired of Elizabeth’s spoiled brat attitude. I wish Barbara would replace her. I just shake my head at some of her comments. She just doesn’t get it. I would like to know if she would be willing to have her husband or her children to go to Iraq? My husband, my son and my brother have served this country.

Rosie became so vocal because she has a new show.

I guess we have all forgotten 9/11. People NEED TO realize that Osama was just one person in a organization that wants to WIPE OUT the AMERICAN PEOPLE. THEY HATE ALL OF US. I WAS THERE. They love the fact that we are bickering amongst ourselves. We are doing some of their work for them. I wonder that if we have found OSAMA AND THE OTHER OFFICERS that planned 9/11, right after it happened, would we have been so outraged at how he was treated I think not. I am also sick and tired of ROSIE using the CHRISTIAN word as if it was dirty. It is not. For someone who cries fowl when someone says anything against gay rights, or uses any words that would be considered derogatory to any gay person, she sure does throw her innuendo’s and passive aggressive remarks, about anyone who is a CHRISTIAN THAT INCLUDES BAPTIST, PRESBYTERIAN, METHODIST, CATHOLIC and they need not be a republican. Believing in GOD is not a DIRTY or bad thing. She needs to remember HER FREEDOM of SPEECH CAME AT A HIGH COST. She also needs to remember that just because she feels a certain way about anything does not make it the right way. Just as it does for me or anyone else.

BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN IRAQ THAT LOVE US BEING THERE. WE HAVE FINALLY GIVEN THEM HOPE FOR A DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT AND WE ARE, SLOWLY BUT SURELY, GETTING THESE MILITANT TIME BOMBS OUT OF THE PICTURE. IF WE DON’T OUR CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN ETC WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO BE TRULY SAFE. I DID NOT FEEL SUPPORTED WHEN I WAS THERE AND I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE. PEOPLE CAN NOT SAY WE SUPPORT YOU BUT NOT WHAT YOU ARE DOING. I HAVE TO SAY THAT 80 TO 90% OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS THERE, BELIEVE THAT WE ARE THERE FOR THE RIGHT REASON. BUT NO ONE HAS SEEMS TO FEEL THE NEED TO ASK US.

GET IT TOGETHER AMERICA. REMEMBER WHY WE ARE THE LAND OF THE FREE AND HOW WE BECAME THAT WAY.

Rosie O’Donnell believes in God, apparently. This is what she said about childbirth on a recent show:

“I always thought, if you don’t believe in God, watch a baby get born — and it will change your perspective. It was really the most amazing thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life.” - May 7th, 2007, The View

I used to be a fan of rosies. but her attitude towards christians and the government has turned my stomach. where was rosie when saddam gassed a village of people just for fun. where was she when they showed a mother of that village dead covered in the chemicals he used clinging to her dead baby. yes we can have our opinions but most of us dont have millions of people to voice those opinions to.
If your opinion differs just slightly from rosies your attacking her. what a bunch of bs.

Right vs Left…Rosie vs Liz…I don’t know the whole story and I’ve never watched a full hour of The View. I could care less who is on the show. I’m not an activist of any kind, I don’t discriminate against gays, or anyone else. As I watched, I saw someone who questions the things we do and someone else who defends the things our country is doing. We’ve seen it everyday since the war started. If Democrats were in control of the White House right now, and they were responsible for choosing to send us into war, they’d be in the hot seat. I think they should’ve kept Rosie on the show just to bring balance to “The View” this show brings to TV…it’s an example of what’s on everyone’s mind and humanizes our celeb personalities. Freedom of speech! Let them speak! The most interesting thing to me was the difference in responses each speaker received while delivering their “View”. Clearly the majority of the audience members were in agreement with the politically left. The Republican party to me may be in a position where they so want to stand up and support their views, like Liz, but seem to be doing so with more and more hesitation as this administration brings us deeper and deeper into a war that may very well never be resolved in this lifetime. God bless the troops for doing what they do. And may God help this administration and the next in making the best decision for this country and humanity. Maybe one day, humans will decide that we’re all really in this together.

Cary is absolutely right. I completely agree with your entire post. I fully support our troops and believe that liberating the Iraqi people was the right thing to do. As Cary indicated, most of the military personnel in Iraqi and the Iraqi people themselves believe the U.S. is doing the right thing.

Entertainers like Rosie, the Dixie Chicks, and others should be mindful of inflammatory comments they make about our government and our leaders. Rosie is upset because Republicans have negative comments about her. Isn’t she doing the same thing when she goes off on a political commentary that attacks the U.S. government? These entertainers need to realize that we don’t watch them for political commentary, but because at times they are entertaining. If they want to help solve perceived problems in domestic and foreign policy, then run for office. Quit the complaining and do something to change it.

Elisabeth was correct in asking Rosie to defend her own comments. If a celebrity makes a comment that may be seen as inflammatory, then that celebrity needs to be prepared to take the heat and deal with whatever consequences may follow (i.e. Dixin Chicks).

I could go on about this all night, but in the end all sides in this political argument have positions that have some merit. I think we can all agree that political bashing in counter productive. If there is something wrong with the current system, then let’s do something to change it.

God bless our troops and the leaders that have to make the difficult decisions to protect our country.

“Why does Rosie get all the criticism while Elisabeth gets all the praise?”

I think the answer is clear…

Notice that, in my letters to them (on my blog), I never mentioned the actual political issues at all…

Elizabeth has the edge because she has the “nice factor.”

People DO NOT appreciate “the meanest bully on the playground.”

Being loud, and mean, and disrespectful… TURNS PEOPLE OFF faster than anything….

Even people who agree with her politically views, despise the way she treats other people… on the show and otherwise.

Being disrespectful is NEVER an effective way to get your point across — even if you’re right.

I wonder if she learned this.

I feel that to call others naive and having delusions for their views or their take on these situations, is wrong. What makes your views the correct ones and any opposing view wrong? You could be the one that is naive. As for myself, when I signed on the perverbal dotted line and joined the Army, I gave up my nativity. This is what makes this country so great. That we can speak opposing views with out being jailed or even killed. As for Rosie and Elisabeth, they both need to stop and think before they speak and think about the damage that they can do with the words they speak. All the negativity that is spoken hear did and still does get back to the soldiers and it does have an effect. That was my main point. I and the men and women I spent my time with in Iraq believe in our purpose there.

    don’t be defensive

    nobody likes to be wrong

    it is complicity:
Not To Call Something What It Is !!!

it’s what’s got us where we are in IRAQ

    and i’m not gonna slam-dunk
i appreciate and respect you for your service, Cary

it’s hypocritical to talk about our right to speak -
and then say what’s “wrong” to say

I believe that you spoke the truth there, Cary. I know of 3 soldiers who came back from Iraq and all said that they were very upset with how the MEDIA protrayed things in Iraq.
I support you and ALL soldiers serving in the US Military.
“MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS THERE, BELIEVE THAT WE ARE THERE FOR THE RIGHT REASON. BUT NO ONE HAS SEEMS TO FEEL THE NEED TO ASK US.”
I think that is very true too. I wonder why? Maybe because they would have to change their views? It seems in America we hate to admit we are wrong, regardless of our political parties.
I have to admit that I supported the war when it first started and believe that we did what we had to do, but now after over 3,000 lives are lost, I wish that they would just come home. However, I know that that would be a big mistake. What we need is someone to say “Damn it, enough is enough, forget democracy, here is what we are going to do, and here is what you are going to do.” Kind of like “Shock and Awe” I am talking about pinpointing Terrorist and let them have it! No survivors, forget interogating them or keeping them in a comfortable holding cell with 3 nutitional meals. I think the problem is that we are so concerned with playing “fair” and these terrorist know it and use it again and again against us. We need to shake things up abit and clean house. When did the USA become the United Nations? I’m not a Rosie fan, but she’s right - Iraq should never have been part of the ‘war on terror’. They’ve never attacked us, although, if memory serves me, we’ve attacked them, TWICE! I don’t dispute that Sadaam Hussain inflicted atrocities upon the people of Iraq, but wise up if you believe America’s war has anything to do with humanitarianism, weapons of mass destruction, or putting an end to al Qaeda. No doubt, you still believe that the US declared war on Vietnam to stop communism! If we are so concerned with human rights, where were we when the Hutus were slaughtering the Tutsis? Why aren’t we trying to end the crisis in Sudan? Could it be that we have nothing to gain from such ‘humanitarianism’? Iraq, on the other hand, very convenient. Its comical that people actually believe the Iraq war is an attempt to stop bin Laden. One has nothing to do with the other. After all, if we invaded Iraq to get at al Qaeda, then we should have simultaneously declared war on Britain, Italy, Germany, Canada, and ourselves! In otherwords, Al Qaeda is EVERYWHERE. No doubt, there are some who believe that once their mastermind, bin Laden is found and killed, Al Qaeda will cease to exist. If we learned anything from Iraq, it should be that the trouble doesn’t end with it’s leader. No doubt, bin Laden has a successor or two waiting to carry out his vision once he’s gone. As long as the US governement continues to interfere in the middle east and impose its social system and ideology upon other countries, we will remain al Qaeda’s primary target.
