@ MBMQ: Good point. I don't really expect any of them to, but I still hope.

@ ohchicken: Yeppers.

@ jimthomp87: Very true about Clinton, and enough reason to not support Hillary.

@ fightingwindmills: Resolutions are like rules - they're made to be broken.

Brian, lol, I have resolved to be more compassionate and less judgmental this year and then you have to remind me of Huckabee and his son (blech!) and I just can't keep my resolution. :(

I'm with MBMQ -- having also lived in Arkansas for awhile, I'll agree "it is a beautiful, but sometimes scary place to live."

The rule-bending and behind-closed-doors shenanigans is legendary, but it's not just those who follow a religious right agenda--The Clinton Years as Governor were scandalous as well. There's just something about those guys from Hope :)

But for over-the-top political misbehavior, Louisiana is in a class by itself -- no other place comes close -- they redefine "crazy" when it comes to politics (and a few other things, too).

Okay, I'll probably get "dogged" for saying this, but having lived in Arkansas for seventeen years, I've come to believe that Arkie politicians are the scariest people on earth. Even scarier than Texas politicians.

A political science professor explained it to me one time when we were talking about the intolerance, bigotry and rule-bending that goes unchecked there. He said that people in power in Arkansas are given the laws of the land, but behind closed doors the consensus is that they're going to go ahead and follow a rigid religious right agenda, and screw anybody who believes otherwise.

It was a beautiful, but sometimes scary place to live.

Cover-ups are just a part of political life. At this point, why would any of us expect that our leaders would behave ethically?
