yes. exactly. i watched it twice.
I saw this just recently, too. “Wow” is a good way to sum it up.
Oh, I want to see this. I watched a story about it on “In The Life’ over the weekend. I’ll have to look for it at the video store.
This is a great link for people who want more info on the film.

I would like to see it, but haven’t yet.
There’s a FANTASTIC documentary around called God & Gays: Bridging the Gap (www.godandgaysthemovie.com). It’s actually told from the point of view of people themselves who have gone through the struggle around sexuality and religion. It’s powerful…and funny actually. I highly recommend it.
@ ohchicken: I can’t wait to see it again.
@ ajerseyromance: Sometimes there just aren’t words…
@ irishof: Netflix has it, so that might be an option for you.
@ fightingwindmills: Please do! It was very moving.
@ Sarah: I’ll have to check that one out. Isn’t it refreshing how many good documentaries have come out over the last few years?
It’s out in movie form?
*dialing the video store*
Well, of course where I live they don’t have it and only two libraries in the state of Iowa do, so I just bought one off Amazon. I figure if y’all are oohhhhin and aahhin that much I should have it to watch repeatedly, yes?
@ Darla: Great! Let me know what you think after you’ve watched it.
I will! I’m excited to see it - I have no idea why but since y’all are and I can feel it, I’m excited too! =) I’m easy like that.
Ok, I’m seriously confused. It was conflicting. They were all over the place (or maybe that was my brain). I watched it twice and still couldn’t figure out what message they were trying to convey.
Help. I must be really naieve.
Darla,
I think the overall theme of the film was that the Bible can’t really be used to discriminate against homosexuals and that parents should love their children unconditionally. I thought it did a great job at profiling parents who were accepting and those who weren’t, and then showing the consequences of those actions.
Which specific parts did you find conflicting?
There ya go - you just explained it.
Cuz on one hand some lunatic was quoting the bible out of context and the next sentence it was someone who was loving and gentle and kind. I think it just made my mind spin at what they were trying to get at.
