OMG. What cruelty.

To some extent, I suppose boys will be boys. My grandma always told me a story about my dad stuffing a bunch of kittens in a canning jar once when he was a kid. However, he was reprimanded and the cats were saved.

I hope my hooligans are in your elite few!

You described this so well... I think (at least I hope) that you made a lasting impression on them.

I think the matter really comes down to respect. Kids like that do not have respect for animals or for anything else. It's a really sad thing and their parent's should be teaching them that everything has a right to live without being tortured.

I would have said something as soon as I saw the cat but I'm also of the opinion it takes a village to raise a child. Back when we were kids, neighbors or complete strangers weren't afraid to keep us in line if our parents weren't around. If these kids aren't being taught respect at home, then somebody has to teach it to them.

I don't know how you held back as long as you did. I suspected one of my neighbor boys of messing with one of my cats. After a long go to hell look at him and his mother was all it took. She now keeps the kids on her side of the yard. If I catch her kids doing something to my cat, she will find out how expensive a new set of tires are for a SUV. You and I have known each other for a long time and if you need any help with something evil and underhanded, I’m your man! I hate people who are cruel to animals! If you think I sound bad you ought to hear my wife if someone messes with the cats.

I am SOOOO with you on the little demons!!! I could do without every single one of then, minus my niece and a few choice friend-spawns. A SELECT few.

If I ever catch a little beast messing with a cat, I will lose it, I almost guarantee. You definitely held your cool better than I would. :)

When I was in grade school, there were about 8 boys who were on the high school football team (the popular boys) and they chased this cat and poured gas on its tail and lit it on fire.

It ran to the Elevator (farmer's co-op) and lit the whole elevator on fire. Niiiiiice.

Interestingly some of these people are leaders/well-to-do business owners in our town. Does that scare me just a tad? YUP!!!

ROFL!!

I completely understand because I have 15 cats (my mom is a Cat lover) in my house and whenever my little cousins come to my house, they would start running around while carrying the little ones or throwing pillows and screaming at them. I would always lecture them about how cats have feelings too but what do these kids know!! LOL

And I admit that I kinda felt happy when they start bugging the bigger ones and they get scratched. *evil grin*
