New York To Recognize Gay Marriage

New York has decided to honor same-sex marriages performed in other states and abroad, part of an effort to bring their marriage laws in line with the state’s human rights law.

Massachusetts legalized gay marriage in 2004. New Hampshire, Vermont, New Jersey, and Connecticut all have civil unions. California has a domestic partnership law, but is expected to recognize and allow same-sex marriage sometime this year.
